Big Bear Lake is about 2 ½ hours away from Los Angeles or San Diego in the San
Bernardino National Forest at approximately 7,000 feet elevation. We have over 300
days a year of sunshine and the 7th sunniest spot on earth!
The average temperature in the summer is about 75 – 83 degrees in the afternoon and
60 – 65 in the evenings. Because of our elevation, we are smog free with star filled
evenings and blue skis in the daytime. Big Bear Lake is a very safe mountain community
for the family with many things to do throughout the day depending on your mood.
