| Current Big Bear Lake Fishing Report - Hot Spots, Tips, Bait and Locations Spring fishing conditions in Big Bear Lake are Excellent! The trout fishing has been fair this week with a few limits of trout. The Fall fishing in Big Bear Lake is continuing to produce large size trout all around the lake. Myself and my friend caught 8 nice size trout (catch & released) at Lagonita Point from the shore. Fishing is excellent from all spots and locations in Big Bear Lake. For trout fishing Big Bear Lake is currently the best spot for fishing in Southern California, as well as the lake being at total water capacity. The water temp is currently 70 degrees and the bite is still on for morning trout fishing. | 2012 Big Bear Troutfest Fishing Tournament: The 8th annual Western Outdoor News Big Bear Lake TroutfesT Fishing Derby (October 6th - 7th ) There will be tens of thousands of dollars in cash and prizes at stake, trophies and prizes for adults big fish winners( men and women's division), kids ( both boys and girls ), and the Big Bear community will as always role out the red carpet for all the WON anglers! Now heading into its eighth year, the successful Big Bear Lake TroutfesT will once again be returning to Big Bear Lake on October 6th and 7th, 2012. We have held the entry fee to $75 for adults and $50 for juniors, and the first 600 entries will receive a goodie bag with a selection of items from sponsors. Here is just some of what you get when you sign up for the WON Big Bear Troutfest: 1) Each person that signs up for the 2012 Big Bear TroutfesT will receive a raffle ticket for the grand raffle prize of a new boat and motor package, and some lucky angler on Sunday, Oct. 7th at the end of the awards program will win that prize. In addition to the grand raffle prize there are tons of other raffle prize awards. 2) Trophies and merchandise will be awarded to the top five winners in each of the following categories: Adult Male, Adult Female, Junior Male and Junior Female 12 and under.
