| Current Big Bear Lake Fishing Report - Hot Spots, Tips, Bait and Locations Spring fishing conditions in Big Bear Lake are Excellent! The trout fishing has been excellent this week with many limits of trout. Winter fishing in Big Bear Lake is continuing to produce large size trout all around the lake. Myself and my friend caught 8 nice size trout (catch & released) at Lagonita Point from the shore. Fishing is excellent from all spots and locations in Big Bear Lake. For trout fishing Big Bear Lake is currently the best spot for fishing in Southern California, as well as the lake being at total water capacity. The water temp is currently 40 degrees and the bite is still on the rise making for great trout fishing. Some of the more active fishing spots this week have been basically the North Shore.
