Saturdays; 1pm & 2pm
Sundays; 11am & 12pm

Join us for a 30-minute nature walk on Saturdays and Sundays to learn about the local plant life, wildlife and some very interesting historical facts. Great activity for families and individuals who want to gain a greater appreciation for our National Forest. Nature walks are not strenuous and designed for all levels of physical conditioning.

Let's Go Snowshoeing!
Come celebrate our winter wonderland by playing in it! The Discovery Center is offering guided snowshoe tours this winter for visitors and residents to explore scenic areas around Big Bear Lake. A naturalist will lead you through the forest where you will learn about winter ecology and natural history of the Big Bear Valley. Tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts. Meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center. Snowshoes and additional transportation are provided. Call to reserve your spot today! (909) 382-2790 or (909) 866-3437. Reservations are recommended; tours are limited to 13 people. Tours are weather dependent, so please call to check snow conditions.

Rate: Adults: $35, Children (8-12): $25
Date: Saturdays 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm, Sundays 9am-12pm; December 26 through March 7. Additional Tours scheduled for Saturday, December 19; 9am-12pm and Sunday, December 20; 9am-12pm.

    During your visit to the Discovery Center
    Make sure you visit the Adventure Outpost, a 2,700 square-foot nature feast for the
    shoppers' eyes. The Adventure Outpost offers the most extensive selection of maps,
    field guides, and informational and educational books on hiking, biking, camping,
    stargazing, and skiing. Our Kids Department offers interactive games, puzzles, toys,
    stuffed animals and award-winning hand and finger puppets by Folkmanis. We offer
    the largest selection of Smokey products on the market including stuffed Smokey's
    of many sizes, Smokey's that talk, hand puppets, clothing, and hats and gifts. If you
    are looking for a cool t-shirt or warm-weather sweatshirt, check out our clothing
    section featuring the season's best from Life is Good, Gear, Polar and other famous
    makers for the whole family. If a neat piece of jewelry is on your list, check out our
    unique selection ranging from stretchy bracelets in animal motifs or Native American
    bead bracelets and necklaces for the kids, to elaborate sterling silver pieces for her.
    The Serrano Indians were native to our area so we feature a wonderful collection of
    Native American music and gifts. Our Housewares Department features beautiful
    candlesticks, bookends, bowls, wreaths and other decorative items, plus kitchen
    accessories in the cozy cabin/nature themes.

in the Village. This series of events kicks-off with Santa’s
Grand Entrance and Tree Lighting the day after
Thanksgiving with Santa coming to town on Old Red, an
