| MALLARD BAY RESORT GUEST REVIEW - TRIPADVISOR Kristen44 Escondido, California “Exceptional experience, Unforgettable place :)” Reviewed August 11, 2011 NEW Everything about our recent family vacation at the Mallard Bay Resort made us want to return as soon as possible :) Eric and Monique, the owners and on-site managers of the resort are the most genuine and gracious host and hostess you could ask for. They take great care in their property and the vacation experience they provide for their customers, as well as great care and interest in the customers themselves :) They are very knowledgable about the area activities and encourage you to ask for anything you need during your stay. This was our first stay at the resort. It was recommended to us by another family we met on a prior trip to Big Bear. They could not say enough praises about it either, so we knew we needed to plan our vacation here. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by all the outdoor activities( swimming pool, shuffle board, ping pong, horse shoe, volleyball.) But most of all the resort has lake access from their property for docking your boat or using the dock to fish from. The ability to fish from the dock made my two sons the happiest fishermen alive. My younger one, who's 6, caught a record for him self of 7 catfish in less then a day. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, but catfish were the easiest to catch while we were there. As for the accommodations, the 4 of us stayed in a 2 bedroom/1 bath with full kitchen( as they all have), unit 7, the 2nd closest to the lake( unit 8 and 10 are a bit larger and overlook the lake). Very clean and well stocked with all that we needed. We just needed to provide food. There was BBQ's available to grill on and picnic tables, we used for a dinner, all this is adjacent to the outdoor fire place. This fire place area is complete with comfortable seating. Each night Eric and Monique would get the fireplace ready for guests to come and relax in front of the fire, and socialize and roast marsh mellows if you so desired. Our family loves to come to Big Bear for vacation. We have made annual trips in winter and summer for the last several years. We have tried other accommodations, but this resort by far is the best VALUE and EXPERIENCE you will find in all of Big Bear. I encourage anyone thinking of staying here to try it, I guarantee you will find yourself wanting to come back !! Room Tip: Units 8 and 10 have lake view, no noise problems, very quiet, approximately 2 units/building, 2 story( most), 16 units total See more room tips Stayed August 2011, traveled with family Value |
