| Now in its sixth year, the Big Bear Troutfest has proven to be a popular outing for all members of your family. Come on up to the crisp clean air of Big Bear and enjoy a weekend among your fellow anglers as you fish for fun and thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Awards — Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 finishers as we did last year. A big fish trophy will also be awarded to the largest trout caught over the two days of competition. Blind Bogey Contest — All anglers will be eligible for cash that will be awarded as part of the blind bogey contest. $20 of each entry is put into this contest with 75% of the proceeds going to the Big Bear Municipal Water District for fishstocking prior to the Troutfest. The other 25% will be given back to the anglers in the form of cash prizes. Look for $5,000 to be given away at Sunday’s award ceremony to those anglers whose catches come closest to the pre-determined blind bogey weights. Goodie Bags — Event hats and goodie bags filled with items from our sponsors will be given to the first 600 entries. Last year’s goodie bags were worth about $50 each, so enter early to make sure you get your goodie bag! Tagged Trout — Again this year we will have 30 tagged trout, swimming the waters of Big Bear Lake worth thousands in prizes. Catch one of these fish on Saturday Oct 3rd and prepare to win big! Saturday Bar-B-Q — While it’s true that there is no such thing as a free lunch, B’s Backyard Bar-B-Q will be providing lunch and drinks to our contestants all during the Saturday, Oct 3rd weigh-in. Special raffle for juniors only — Again this year will be a separate Grand Raffle for each paid Troutfest junior. Drawing will be held at the tournament awards program. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! |
