| Gatorade Free Flow Tour is coming to Big Bear Jan. 23rd - 24th Bear Mountain Resort, Big Bear Lake |
Calling all amateur snowboarders and freeskiers!
Looking for a way to show the world the skills you’ve got? Well, look no further than the Gatorade Free Flow Tour! Holding 10 events across the country in the month of January, the FIRST EVER Gatorade Free Flow Tour will give ams the chance to prove their stuff in both superpipe and slopestyle competitions. About to kick off its inaugural winter season, the winter leg of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will hold contests across the country throughout the month of January, including a total of 30 slopestyle (snowboard and freeski) competitions and 21 superpipe (snowboard and freeski) contests at 10 resorts.The first ever winter season of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will showcase the top amateur winter athletes competing in snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe) and freeskiing (slopestyle and superpipe). Snowboarding disciplines will have separate competitions for men and women, while the freeski contests will be open to both. Like in the summer, the winners in each of the 51 contests will be flown to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, taking place in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Championship, Feb. 5-7, at Mount Snow Resort in Vermont, where one champion will be crowned in each of the six disciplines (men’s snowboard superpipe and slopestyle; women’s snowboard superpipe and slopestyle; freeski superpipe and slopestyle). Encompassing the “Flow to Pro” theme that is the cornerstone of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the two overall snowboard superpipe and slopestyle champions and the overall freeski superpipe and slopestyle champions earn a spot to compete against the pros at the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour the following season.

Big Bear Lake Welcomes Lance Armstrong ride to Big Bear Lake 2010 Lance Armstrong will be back at the Amgen 2010 Tour of California, and for some that automatically makes it a race of choice for fans and media. Armstrong's participation, his second in a row, will be as part of a newly formed American-based team, RadioShack, instead of Astana. And the race is at a new time and with new challenges. The race, set for May 16-23, 2010, will begin in Nevada City and end in Thousand Oaks. But moving the Tour of California to May from February was applauded by riders."It's been a long time coming," he said. "I hear the Big Bear climb is going to be a big one. It's going to rival an Alpine stage at the Tour de France." |
